Strange Behavior (DVD)
A series of bizarre murders are being perpetrated against teenagers in a small Midwestern town. Dan Shor is there. So are Louise Fletcher and Fiona Lewis. Or maybe they're Down Under. Anyway, dear viewer, charismatic acting from much of the cast will leave you wishing you were, too. Not a perfect movie, but Strange Behavior (AKA Dead Kids) certainly sports worthy components of one.
An international co-production between the United States, New Zealand, and Australia, the film was intended as the first installment of the Strange Trilogy which was cancelled after the second installment, Strange Invaders, failed to attract a large enough audience. A homage to the pulp horror films of the 1950s, Strange Behavior is considered a seminal work of New Zealand cinema, being the first horror film produced in the country.
