DISCHARGE - Massacre Divine CD
Oh my, It's the 1991 studio album from Discharge. Has anyone ever considered the vocals' proximity in this to those of Tim Baker from Cirith Ungol, rather than just dismissing them as an aping of AC/DC's Brian Johnson? It's definitely a heavy metal record with a safe and sterile drum sound plus a heap of that Suicidal-style thrashfunk bass and some pretty okay riffs. Not all bad, but certainly not what you oughta reach for if new to the band. I'm sure you could've figure that out on your own. Anyway, you're probably not new to Discharge and, geez, aren't you maybe just a little curious about this one? Though fun to imagine the band maintaining a stylistically static delivery of their early material through the years, it's also amusing to reflect on Discharge of 1991 playing music that fits rather well amongst some of the other underground-ish rock of that time.
